Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?

For 2027 the cost of registration for ChorusOz St Matthew Passion is $439 including GST.
Included in the fee is your score, access to the digital rehearsal tracks, your ChorusOz T-shirt, your souvenir program book, all-day tea and coffee at the Sydney Opera House, Saturday and Sunday rehearsals with Brett Weymark, and your performance at the Sydney Opera House.
For 2026 the cost of registration for ChorusOz Perth is $299 including GST.
I have registered to sing, and now find that I am unable to participate. Can I get a refund?
The policy for refunds is as follows:
Up until three months prior to the performance date – full refund of registration fee
Between three and two months prior – 75% refund
Between two months and one month prior – 50% refund
One month prior or less – no refund
What music do you sing?

We love big pieces that suit a big chorus and orchestra. It is most satisfying to immerse ourselves in a major work and really get to know that work and that composer. We have performed works from the Baroque period right through to exciting new works of today.
We usually perform a great piece of classical music that you may recognise and love, a work that gives everyone the chance to sing loudly, to sing softly and everywhere in between. Each year is a different piece, and we enjoy taking you on that musical journey.
How do I get the music?

A score is included as part of your registration.
If you own the music already, we’re very happy for you to use that. However, we often provide a special “ChorusOz Edition”. We will post it to you, so that you can practise it before the performance weekend.
How do I learn my music?
How good do I have to be?

Everyone is welcome, whatever your previous experience of singing in a choir. Our chorus master and conductor, Brett Weymark, has spent decades training choirs and choruses, and will have you singing well by the performance.
It is helpful if you can follow a music score and have a basic understanding of music and musical terms. You should use the score, text and teaching tracks provided as part of your registration to prepare yourself for the weekend.
